Tips before using a theory

1.The phenomenom must be real.
2.Identify the phenomenom as is actually is.
3.Decide which theory will be explain the phenomenom.
4.Know whether the theory is for mass communication or is for other type of communication.

DEPENDENCY THEORY: MEDIA SYSTEM DEPENDENCY THEORY Teori ketergantungan dihasilkan oleh Sandra Ball-Rokeach dan Melvin DeFlur pada tahun 1976  dimana teori ini mengabungkan disiplin komunikasi. Terdapat beberapa perspektif dalam teori ketergantungan iaitu: 1. Menggabungkan perspektf dari psikologi dengan bahan dari teori sosial. 2. Menggabungkan unsur-unsur kegunaan dan penyelidikan kepuasan dengan tradisi kesan media. 3. Falsafah kontekstulis dimasukkan ke dalam teori dimana ia memaparkan kebimbangan tradisional      dengan kandungan mesej media dan kesannya kepada orang ramai. Researchers believed that Cavemen uses signs and symbols to indicate or to communicate with each others; one significant prove to this is the cave paintings that are said to date back around the 130,000 B.C.E.. These paintings are created by mashing pigments from juice of fruits, berries, colored minerals or stones and animal blood.
