Concept and model in theory

Concept are abstract description of phenomena and concept can be word or mental images.It is important to define concept so we or the other can communicate.The simple dfinition of a model is that model is an analogue.Model represent system or process.Model also gives us an idea of complicated object or event in general way.A model can be made to describe a particular form of behaviour of which no theory exists or is an adiquate.Model are also used to show the relationship between the concept and theories.So what is the position of concept and model in theory ? model are impotant in order to make theory because model is often used to describe an application of a theory for a particular case.Concept and theory are two terms that quite similiar in nature and because of this similarity,it is sometimes difficult to discern one from another.In another words,concept and model were used in order to make a theory.

CULTIVATION THEORY (TELEVISION SHAPES CONCEPTS OF SOCIAL REALITY) HISTORY Cultivation Theory or also known as Cultivaton Hypothesis and Cultivation Analysis is an approach developed by Professor George Gerbner who began conducting a research entitled “Cultural Indicators” in the 1960s. The research aimed to understand if television could influence viewer’s thought on what the everyday world would be like. The research also wanted to predict the “effects” that viewers will get through television; is the effect long-term? Small? Indirect? Or uncalculated? PROBLEM STATEMENT Cultivation Theory suggest that television shapes or “cultivate” viewers’ conceptions of the social reality. GROUP THINK THEORY Teori Group Think ini adalah proses pengambilan keputusan yang terjadi di dalam kelompok yang kohensif, yang keputusannya tidak diambil berdasarkan rasional melainkan untuk mempertahankan keharmonian kelompok. Teori ini mencadangkan bahawa dalam penyelesaian maalah dan membuat keputusan berkumpulan, ahli kumpulan akan cuba meminimumkan konflik dalaman dan mencapai konsensus tanpa menguji, menganalisis dan menilai idea-idea secara kritis.
